K.T. Conte, a devotee of the written word and all things wild and fascinating, first discovered her passion for books at the tender age of two. Even then, as an avid reader, her journey to becoming an author was already on the horizon. An African-American author with a flair for breathing life into stories, K.T. holds a B.A. in English from Boston College and a law degree from Suffolk University Law School.

While she is a licensed and practicing attorney, K.T.’s first love has always remained books.  My thoughts: even before her powers kick in and the world goes a bit weird, Katya is a pretty kickass person, she stands up for her friends and tries to be on the side of right.

Once she starts seeing the recently departed, yes it all gets a bit strange, but she’s still herself and discovers she can use those new powers to change things. She must wrestle not only with good and evil but also with her own life and the tumult of being a young person today.

Really interesting, fun, anime inspired fantasy that makes you think but also keeps you entertained.

Boyle was born in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. He trained as an actor at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

He is the star, alongside Natalie Clark, of Ryan Hendrick’s multi-award winning short film Perfect Strangers (2015) and of the same director’s feature-film version Lost at Christmas (2020). He plays the role of Detective Marvin Starke in BBC Scotland comedy sitcom Scot Squad (2022). His plays include Eerie Isles, Playthrough and An Isolated Incident, and in 2021 he received a New Playwrights Award from the Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland. His debut radio play Knock of The Ban-Sithe was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in August 2022 and made BBC Sounds drama of the week on the 19th Aug 2022. On the 7th February 2023 Boyle, for his writing on Knock of The Ban-Sithe, was named a finalist for the Imison Award as part of the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2023, and shortlisted for the Celtic Media Festival’s award for Drama (Sound) on the 17th of March 2023

In 2021 he was nominated in the Scottish Emerging Theatre Awards under the following categories: The Flourish Award, The New Writing Award, The Digital Award, and Artist of The Year

His debut novel The Tick and the Tock of the Crocodile Clock, about an aspiring writer from the Southside of Glasgow, was published by Lightning Books in May 2022. Inspired by Peter Pan, the novel was written during the COVID-19 pandemic after Boyle was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. He has said of it: ‘The book is about not wanting to grow up into what society hopes for adults to be and having that conflict of interest between your younger self and the adult you’re growing up to be.’

Lebanese writer Yara Gharios has been making up stories for as long as she could remember. She was a double–major undergraduate student studying both Translation and English Literature. Under the pen name Sahar Ghayar, she wrote several novels in her free time since she was 11 but didn’t actively pursue publishing them yet. In 2016, she graduated from the University of Leeds with an MA in Writing for Performance and Publication and started working as an Analyst.

After a small publishing house came across one of her stories, written in French intermittently when she was 13 to 15, they signed her for a one–book–deal. She released her first novel at 17 in her home country through traditional publishing. It was only when “Masked SheWolf” garnered some attention at online reading websites that she considered self–publishing.

About the Author

I write novels for the curious and adventurous, for people who are intrigued by a “what happens if,” scenario, and who like to explore the outcomes. My characters are ordinary people who find out that they are capable of extraordinary things and discover that one person can truly make a difference.

After receiving a BA in art history and political science from Barnard, I graduated from Fordham University School of Law. I then worked for five years at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office (BXDA), where I prosecuted sex crimes and child abuse cases. After leaving BXDA, I published a true-crime memoir, Bronx DA: True Stories from the Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence unit (Barricade, 2006). In 2010, my book sold as a TV Pilot to CBS/Paramount.

I’ve gone on to publish numerous legal articles and works of poetry, and I was an editor for a legal magazine. For a few years, I was also a talking head, commenting on current criminal cases in the media on tv and radio.

Today, I live in the Hudson Valley, NY with my husband, our two children (also budding writers), two naughty Labrador retriever ladies, and two barn cat boys. I’m now working on sequels to my debut novel ReInception and will keep you posted about them on my site.

When not writing or lawyering, I love to scuba dive, take photographs, and travel off the beaten path. I’ll swap diving or courtroom stories with you all day long or happily talk to you about books–writing them or reading them!
