My thoughts: Althea Adler has a very strange relationship with her mother, the infamous Irene Adler, who is currently missing. A postcard of Paris that reads “Holmes away from home” is the only clue Althea has, which lead her to 221B Baker Street.
Then she ends up at a society weekend, and the host ends up murdered, and all the guests are told to stay put until the killer is identified. Althea decides she might just be the one to solve the case and get out of there. Along with the dashing William, Lord Sheffield.
There’s secrets a plenty in the house, all of which are about to come to the surface as Althea and William carry out their investigation and plenty of suspects. But will Althea find out the truth about who her father is and find her mother?
A clever and enjoyable read inspired by the classic crime world of Holmes and Watson.
