My thoughts: this was really enjoyable, I’d recommend reading The Rise first, just to know the whole story, but there’s enough detail here if you really don’t feel like it.

Mirren, Davie and Zander are riding high in Hollywood, but it seems someone is out to change that. A series of increasingly nasty attacks, threats and they’re running scared. Who could it be? Someone from their past?

While investigators look into it, the trio have to keep their careers going and try to have successful private lives too, but as events threaten to derail everything, and lives are put in danger, everything’s on hold. Clever, gripping and tense, there’s a moment or two where it could all end in tragedy.

The two authors weave the story so well I can’t see who wrote which bit, and the cast of characters are brilliantly written. From a Glasgow council estate to the Hollywood Hills, this series gets more interesting with each book.

*I was kindly gifted a copy of this book in exchange for taking part in the blog tour but all opinions remain my own.
