You can’t outrun your family curse.

I thought high school was hard enough. At least I had my BFF Andy by my side, and we’d be attending the same college in the fall. What started with a family reunion has turned into the adventure from hell.

I didn’t ask for this. The prophecies. The magic. The obsession. The dragons. The warring deities. I just wanted to be a normal teenager. But because of who I am, the family I was born into, I’ve been caught up in a story that began centuries before I was born. It’s up to me to break the family curse, and I will let no one, man nor god, stop me.

There’s only one rule that truly matters. Never fall in love with a human. Break it and die.

Banished to the human realm, stripped of her magic, and bound by the unjust laws of the Inter-Species Alliance, Sav is forbidden from harming humans
or loving them. Now she’s meant to live quietly, obey the rules, and forget the power that once throbbed beneath her skin.

When the leader of the anti-fae movement destroys her home in an attack on her people, she’s captured and brought to their headquarters. The only thing standing between her and freedom is Jack. Sharp-edged, unafraid, and entirely off-limits, he stirs something in her she thought long buried. Something that makes her question everything she knows.

Darkly gripping and dangerously addictive, Whispers Among Thorns is a story of forbidden love, fractured loyalties, and a girl who was never meant to follow the rules.

The hollow waits.

Harper is lost—drowning in a life that feels hollow, disconnected, and disenchanting. Technology, consumerism, and monotony have drained the world of meaning, leaving her restless and yearning for something real. Then one day in her search for feeling, she stumbles across an obscure online forum whispering about Saint’s Hollow, an off-grid commune hidden deep in the mountains. They promise her a detox from the bog of her overwhelming life and reconnection with herself. They promise belonging.

Desperate for escape, Harper sells everything, erases her old life, and follows the invitation that simply reads: We’ve been waiting for you.

Saint’s Hollow is beautiful, untouched by the decay of modern life. Its people are warm, and its leader, Naamah, is intoxicating. But the deeper Harper sinks into their world, the more her reality fractures. Strangeness seeps into every crevice of life in Saint’s Hollow. Shadowed figures haunt her movements and the darkness whispers back.

As Harper unravels, she faces an impossible choice: fight for her fading humanity or surrender to the darkness that has always been waiting.

Because Saint’s Hollow doesn’t just want her dreams.

It wants all of her.

Book Blitz: The Scarlet Star – Jennifer Kropf

ramblingmads

Happy release day to author Jennifer Kropf and congratulations on the release of The Scarlet Star!

Inspired by the fairytale Beauty and the Beast and the Biblical story of Queen Esther, this mashup of high stakes, forbidden romance, and dangerous secrets isn’t the fairytale you know.

The Scarlet Star (Songs of the Adriels Book 1)

Release Date: June 18, 2025

Genre: YA Fantasy/ Fairy Tales/ Christian Fantasy

He’s a beast trapped in a palace, and she’s a beauty tangled in his web

Nineteen-year-old Ryn Electus is captured and brought to the palace for a twelve-week trial period along with three of the fairest maidens in the kingdom to try and ‘steal the heart’ of a young, tormented King with a deadly secret. Unfortunately, the King appears to have no interest in the maidens and keeps getting himself into trouble.

But the King isn’t the only one with a dangerous secret. Ryn has been living in hiding all these years, until she’s dragged from her home and put on a public stage where she finds herself in the crosshairs of the Intelligentsia; a council of sages who serve the seven Celestial Divinities and conspire to destroy people like her. If the sages discover who Ryn really is, she’ll be dead by morning.

Things get even more complicated when Ryn learns what Xerxes is fighting against, the internal wars he’s waging on his own, and why he keeps getting himself into trouble.

However, shortly after Ryn arrives at the palace, an old priestess opens Ryn’s eyes to see the workings of false gods at war who are influencing the kingdom of Per-Siana at every turn, dragging the people into destruction and causing chaos. Ryn is forced to question everything she thought she knew about the gods, until she unexpectedly gains the favour of an ancient god who’s been “silent” for decades; the God Original, the first God, enemy of the Celestial Divinities, who beckons Ryn to shake up the very foundations of the domain.

Thus begins a battle fought in the shadows alongside a war of gowns and politics waged in the spotlight.

Ryn must do everything she can to hide that she’s a descendant of King Xerxes’s enemies, and she and Xerxes were born as rivals, destined to hate and destroy each other.

She has only weeks to decide which side she’s on.

This book is ideal for fans of The Selection Series by Kiara Cass and A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer and includes gorgeous character illustrations by Kyannah Durocher.

She’s a baker yearning for the ultimate love story.

Together, they’ll discover that sometimes the sweetest magic lies in unexpected places.

Rosalyn’s enchanted scones bring magic to every bite at The Sconery and Teashop. With a glitter-sneezing caticorn and a thriving business, all Rosalyn needs is a romance as sweet as her baking. When a mysterious Rune Elf strides into Moonshine Hollow, bringing secrets and devastating charm, her perfectly-measured life crumbles faster than a day-old scone.

Bjorn is no ordinary elf. A secret prince looking for an escape, he’s determined to forge his own path far from the expectations of his royal family. When he’s tasked with helping a wild unicorn herd suffering from chaotic magic, he’s relieved to focus on creatures instead of people. That is, until a certain insistently-friendly baker and her pet crash into his carefully guarded solitude.

As Rosalyn and Bjorn work together to uncover the source of the magical imbalance in horned creatures, sparks fly in more ways than one. Her warmth and charm start to melt his icy walls, but Bjorn’s secret could shatter their fragile connection. Rosalyn dreams of the kind of love bards sing about, but will this gruff and guarded prince sweep her off her feet before it’s too late?
